Whatever you think you lack, you don’t need that because you have Christ and He has you.
The fancy house. The fancy car. A better job. Great vacations. That nifty new video game. Better food. A more slender body. A hip that works properly. A closer relationship with your husband. Kids who appreciate you. A dog that doesn’t pee on the carpet.
Those are nice-to-haves, not must-haves. No matter how much every fibre in our flesh tells us otherwise.
The only must-have is Christ, and all we need to do to obtain Him is receive Him.
We know this is true, at least with our brains. We even sing as though we believe it’s true, with our mouths. At my church, we often sing the words, ‘Your grace is enough.’ And tomorrow, we’re going to sing the words ‘All of you is more than enough for me … All I have in you is more than enough.’
Great words. Great songs.
I wonder what life would be like if we lived as though we believed them.
Peace be with you.
